The Fourth Annual Southeast Michigan Trout Unlimited Holiday Social is right around the corner. Again this year, the Clinton Valley Chapter will host a fantastic social gathering for members of the three other Southeast Michigan Trout Unlimited chapters (Vanguard, Challenge and Paul H. Young) and members of the Michigan Fly Fishing Club.
This year’s Holiday Social will take place on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017 with a 6:30PM start time. To accommodate the expected large group we will host this event at the River Crest Banquet Facility on Avon Road just east of Livernois Road. Dinner will be served around 7:00PM. We can assure all of you that the food will be “top notch” and no one will be disappointed. As a special treat, we have an open bar for the evening with an outstanding staff to serve you.
Your $25 dinner ticket will include an outstanding River Crest banquet style dinner and access to the open bar. There will be plenty of opportunity for everyone to win one of the several door prizes available for the evening.
At 8:00PM the presidents of the four Southeast Michigan Trout Unlimited chapters will take a minute to review their accomplishments from the past year and their plans 2018. Once the chapter presidents have finished their reviews MITU’s Chairman, Tom Quail will address the group on some of the important issues throughout our state.
We will also be hearing from Trout Unlimited National staff member, Jeremy Geist, about some of the great projects he has been involved with in Michigan’s northern lower peninsula. Many of you may know Jeremy from his time spent helping CRWC protect our local watershed. He is now moved on to a larger endeavor and is protecting some of our very best trout waters in the state.
To give this event a purpose, Clinton Valley has elected to donate all profits from this event to one of the projects that Jeremy will outline during his presentation. There will be several raffle items available from each of the groups participating in the event and all proceeds for the evening will be donated directly towards a great project up north. Any of you who fish the northern Michigan are certain to consider this a worthy cause.
