Lake Orion Park Restoration 1999-2001
The stream restoration was completed in the summer of 2001. The project involved adding gravel bed and trout cover in the stream at the downtown Lake Orion Park. A 19″ Brown Trout was reportedly taken in this stretch in the spring of 2002.
One of the cleanups was done in December 1999. A bright, sunny, but cold day. And it is amazing what you find in streams that shouldn’t be there!

Log Jam Cleanup May 2002
We were invited by the Paint Creek Trail Commission to clear out a logjam under one of the Paint Creek Trail Bridges by Dutton Road. Working with them, there about 20 volunteers clearing out the mess in about 3 hours time. Along with the log jam, we had a bail of fencing that we found as well.
